In collaboration with
MARINERS LEARNING SYSTEM™
Lectures/Classes/Texts/CD ROM’s/Final Testing/Application Support
Sail Martha’s Vineyard is pleased to announce that it will once again be offering its United States Coast Guard 6 PAC and 100 Ton Masters licensing courses in collaboration with fully USCG accredited Mariners Learning System™ ("MLS"). The course will consist of eighty hours of classroom instruction. Students will also need to allow for additional study and review time in order to prepare for the exam which will be administered in March at Sail Martha’s Vineyard offices.
In addition to the classroom instruction Sail MV will guide candidates through the entire certification process, a service that is not offered by any other program. Captain Andy Hammond, currently a Sail MV Advisory Board member and Executive Director of the Boston Pilots Association and formerly Chief REC Officer for USCG District 1, Boston, , will advise students seeking Coast Guard certification in preparing the required documentation for submission of their application folio to the Coast Guard for evaluation.
Students who are not necessarily qualified for Coast Guard licensure ("Academic Students") are welcome to enroll.
SCHOLARSHIPS: If you are a year round resident of Martha’s Vineyard and are approved by the USCG to sit for your exams AND you will be using your license for a commercial purpose, you may qualify for scholarship support through the Permanent Endowment for Martha’s Vineyard. Scholarship applications will be made available at the Organizational Seminar.
